In conjunction with the 53rd Convocation Ceremony of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), the Office of the Vice-Chancellor organised a Research Exhibition as one of the key programmes under the Convocation Carnival (KARKON) 2025. The exhibition was held from 22 November to 4 December 2025 at Dataran Panggung Seni, UKM.
The exhibition was organised as part of the university’s initiative to showcase the research outputs of the UKM community to visitors attending the convocation celebrations. Through this platform, visitors were given the opportunity to explore and gain insights into various technologies, innovations and products developed through the research efforts of UKM scholars, particularly those from the university’s faculties, institutes and centres.
Throughout the exhibition period, multiple research booths were presented, featuring participation from entities under the Research and Innovation Affairs (HEPI) as well as research showcases from various faculties, institutes and centres according to the respective convocation sessions. The exhibition highlighted a diverse range of research fields, including technological innovations, product development and research-based solutions with potential benefits for society and industry.
On 26 November 2025, the exhibition was visited by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Sufian Jusoh, Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. The visit provided an opportunity for him to personally observe the research outputs displayed at the booths and engage directly with the participating researchers. During the visit, he also received briefings on several showcased innovations, including research products with potential for commercialisation.
Overall, the exhibition served as an important platform to introduce UKM’s research achievements to the public while reinforcing the university’s role as a leading institution in driving innovation, knowledge advancement and impactful solutions for national development.
