The Strategic and Organisational Planning Workshop (BPSO) Pusat IDEA 2026 was successfully held on 2 March 2026 at Hotel Tenera, Bangi. The workshop was led by Prof. Dr. Jamia Azdina Jamal, Director of Pusat IDEA, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), and focused on identifying strategic initiatives aimed at achieving the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) outlined in the UKM TEKAD 57 Strategic Plan (2026–2030).
Throughout the workshop, participants engaged in strategic discussions to identify key initiatives, programmes and action plans that could effectively support the university’s research and innovation agenda. The sessions also incorporated foresight approaches in examining the six Grand Challenges of UKM, enabling participants to identify priority areas and strategic opportunities that could be pursued during the implementation period of the university’s strategic plan.
The workshop was further strengthened by the presence and keynote address delivered by Prof. Dr. Ismanizan Ismail, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) of UKM. In his address, he emphasised the importance of sustainable and high-impact strategic planning that aligns with the university’s aspirations to strengthen UKM’s position as a leading research university.
Through this workshop, Pusat IDEA remains committed to ensuring that the strategic decisions and action plans formulated during the session are implemented systematically and monitored regularly. These efforts are essential in supporting the university’s research and innovation excellence agenda while ensuring that the initiatives undertaken generate meaningful impact for knowledge advancement, society and national development.
