Pusat IDEA, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), in collaboration with the Department of Skills Development (JPK), organised an Industry Dialogue Programme titled “Academy in Industry (ADI) & Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): Building Future Career Excellence” on 23 October 2025 at the Auditorium Siswa, Pusanika UKM.
This Industry Dialogue forms part of the initiatives under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UKM and JPK, aimed at strengthening strategic collaboration between government, academia, and industry. The programme focuses on talent development through the work-and-learn concept, ensuring that the future workforce is developed in a sustainable, highly skilled, and competitive manner, aligned with current labour market demands and industry trends.
The discussion also provided a platform to foster closer collaboration among government agencies, academic institutions, and industry players in support of the national human capital development agenda.
A total of 21 participants attended the programme, comprising representatives from Adab Youth Garage (AYG) and UKM students. As an outcome of the session, Adab Youth Garage (AYG) expressed interest in collaborating and participating in programmes and training offered under the ADI and RPL frameworks. Further discussions involving AYG, UKM, and JPK will be convened to explore potential strategic collaborations that can strengthen programme implementation and support the core objectives of ADI and RPL in empowering youth skills development and enhancing the national workforce.
