The Selangor State-level Festival of IDEA 2025 (FOI@Selangor) was held from 25 to 26 October 2025 at the Dewan Agung Tuanku Canselor, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam. The festival forms part of the national Festival of IDEA (FOI) initiative, introduced in 2024 by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, with the aim of cultivating critical thinking, knowledge sharing, and innovation across Malaysian states.
FOI@Selangor 2025 was officially inaugurated on 25 October 2025 by Amirudin Shari, the Chief Minister of Selangor. The opening ceremony was also attended by the Director-General of Higher Education and the Vice-Chancellor of UiTM, reflecting strong institutional support for the festival.
Pusat IDEA, together with the UKM Centre for Innovation and Technology Transfer, participated actively in the festival by showcasing 12 research-based products developed by UKM. The exhibition attracted strong interest from visitors on the first day at the UKM booth, providing opportunities for the public to explore and learn about the technologies on display.
In addition, FOI@Selangor served as a valuable platform for researchers, industry players, and government representatives to explore potential collaborations in research and innovation, thereby strengthening academia–industry–government linkages.
