Pusat IDEA of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), together with the University Research Group (KPU) Dinamika TVET UKM and Adab Youth Garage (AYG), conducted a courtesy visit to the Accreditation Division of the Department of Skills Development (JPK) in Putrajaya on 30 January 2026.
The visit formed part of the follow-up initiatives under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UKM and JPK, aimed at strengthening strategic collaboration in the areas of skills development and youth empowerment. The engagement provided an opportunity for the delegation to gain further insights into the accreditation processes administered by JPK while exploring potential roles for UKM, particularly through Pusat IDEA and the university’s research groups, in contributing as training providers within skills development programmes.
During the discussion, several strategic matters were deliberated, including the proposed organisation of the Academy in Industry (ADI) Induction Course, verification of eligible participants and qualified trainers, and the alignment of KPU expertise with target groups coordinated by AYG. The meeting also discussed the preparation of an accreditation recognition plan to support the implementation of training programmes, as well as proposals to expand the target beneficiaries to include broader community groups, including senior citizens.
The session further provided a platform to strengthen strategic partnerships with various collaborators in order to ensure that skills training and development initiatives can be implemented in a more structured and impactful manner.
Overall, the visit reflects the continued commitment of UKM, JPK and their collaborative partners in advancing youth skills development and expanding lifelong learning opportunities for the community.
