Advanced Training on CLASS 2013 & ICOP 2014

The Occupational Safety and Health (Classification, Labelling and Safety Data Sheet for Hazardous Chemicals), Regulation 2013 (Class 2013) was gazetted on 11th October 2013. The Code of Practice on Chemicals Classification and Hazard Communication (ICOP 2014) was published on 16th April 2014. ICOP 2014 is based on the Classification Criteria of the third revised edition of the GHS (Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals). Enforcement of CLASS 2013 and ICOP 2014 is being caried out by DOSH to ensure compliance among suppliers who formulates, manufacturers, imports, recycles, reformulates, repacks, distributes and retails of hazardous chemicals.

UKM Technology Sdn. Bhd. is listed as one of the training provider for Class 2013 under the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Malaysia since 1st September 2016.

 

Training Objectives

  • to train participants the scope and requirements of CLASS 2013
  • to train participants to classify and label substance and mixture based on ICOP 2014

 

Target Participants

Chemical manufacturer; Chemical importer; Chemical formulator; Chemical health risk assessor; OSH officer; Officer/manager in charge of Malaysia’s chemical regulator affair; Laboratory officer; and Individuals who wish to acquire knowledge in classification and labelling of chemicals.

 

Requirements

Participants should possess at least a diploma in engineering, science, chemistry, toxicology, or occupational safety and health.

 

Expected Output

After completing the training course, participants are able to classify and label chemicals based on the requirements of CLASS 2013 and ICOP 2014.

Training Approach

All participants of CLASS 2013 & ICOP 2014 must complete the whole training course. Certificate of Attendance and Certificate of Completion will be given to all participants who successfully attend the whole training course and pass an assessment. Participants who choose to attend the training course only will be given a Certificate of Attendance (with a minimum of 80% attendance). Take note that Certificate of Completion does not access participant’s competency in classifying and labelling of chemicals, rather it merely testify participant’s passing score in CLASS 2013 & ICOP 2014 assessment.

Cancellation and Replacement

Cancellation may be made at least seven (7) days before the training course. A registered participant who are not able to attend the training course may replace his seat with another person. That person must complete the Registration Form to the Organiser five (5) days before the Workshop date.

UKM Technology Sdn. Bhd. reserves the right reschedule or change the venue of the training course. All efforts will be taken to inform all registered participants of any reschedule or changes.
