Leveraging Industrial Revolution 4.0 for Sustainable Development Goals and Innovations

The world is in the cusp of another industrial revolution, Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0). In this phase of human civilisation, we have become more aware of how the previous industrial revolutions have brought about detrimental changes to our planet. As technological advancement in IR4.0 blurs the line between the physical, digital and biological, and the world becomes more interconnected, humanity is facing a climate crisis that will bring the destruction of biodiversity on this planet, and of our own existence. Thus, technological advancement in IR4.0 may be leveraged to create a more sustainable future.

Institute of IR4.0 is organising our 1st International Postgraduate Seminar on Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IPSIR4.0). We welcome postgraduate students, their supervisors and researchers to submit research papers in IR4.0 and related fields. This seminar provides an opportunity for postgraduate students to present and get feedbacks on their work. Therefore, postgraduate students are encouraged to submit papers and attend this seminar.

Reflecting on the opportunities brought by IR4.0 and the challenges of climate crisis, the theme for this year’s seminar is “Leveraging Industrial Revolution 4.0 for Sustainable Development Goals and Innovations.”
