On 17 Nov 2025, we were honoured to welcome Dr. Chelsey Laird, Director of the University Mobility in Asia & the Pacific International Secretariat (UMAP-IS), Vancouver Community College, Canada, to Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

Her visit marks an important milestone in the ongoing UMAP-IS Transition Process as UKM prepares to assume the role of the International Secretariat for the term 2026–2030.

On 19 Nov 2025, Dr. Chelsey visited the office of YBhg. Prof. Dr. Abdul Halim Abdul Gafor, TNC (HEPA) UKM, to present progress updates, discuss transition requirements, and review digital infrastructure readiness for a smooth handover by 31 December 2025.

The meeting was productive and insightful, strengthening collaboration and ensuring alignment of best practices for global mobility management under UMAP.
