Sustainability Pillar 4 : Sustainable Campus

SUSTAINABILITY PILLAR 4 integrates the environment with the policy, management and higher education which give positive impact to the environment, economy and society.

The pillar outlines 9 main objectives measured by 22 Key Performance Indicator consisting of 8 SDGs, which are:

OBJECTIVE 1 : EMPOWERING THE WASTE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
  • Strengthening the management of food, solid and toxic waste
  • Strengthening the waste management policies
  • Increasing intervention programs related to waste management

• Improving management of organic, nonorganic and toxic waste and garbage disposal
• Reducing greenhouse gas emissions from UKM community’s motorized vehicles
• Setting the carbon reduction target by 2030 (short term)
• Setting the carbon reduction target by 2050 (long term)

OBJECTIVE 8 : PRESERVATION AND CONSERVATION OF NATURE

• Conserving and preserving the ecosystem and biodiversity including flora and fauna
• Increasing ecosystem conservation and preservation activities as well as flora and fauna biodiversity
