𝐀𝐔𝐀𝐏 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐈 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝

The 𝐀𝐔𝐀𝐏 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐈 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 (𝐀𝐔𝐀𝐏 𝐀𝐈 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔) was officially launched on 𝟐𝟗 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 at 𝐙𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥, 𝐊𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐚 𝐋𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐫, marking the beginning of an international programme that brings together higher education leaders, academics, researchers and industry experts from Malaysia and across the Asia-Pacific region.

The opening ceremony commenced with welcoming remarks by Prof. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Norazah Mohd Nordin, Country Chapter Chair (Malaysia), Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP), Director of UKM ISN-SDG and Advisory Committee Member of AUAP AI 2026. In her address, she welcomed delegates from Malaysia, Thailand, Bangladesh, India, China, the Philippines and other participating countries, emphasising the importance of strengthening regional collaboration through higher education. She highlighted the vital role of universities in harnessing Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies responsibly to advance innovation, sustainability and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The programme also featured welcoming remarks by Dr. Supaporn Chuangchid, Executive Secretary of the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP), who reaffirmed AUAP’s commitment to fostering international partnerships and promoting knowledge exchange among member universities to prepare institutions for the future of digital transformation and Artificial Intelligence.

The ceremony was officially officiated by Prof. Sr. Ts. Dr. Adi Irfan Che Ani, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Income Generation and Development, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, whose presence reflected UKM’s unwavering commitment to advancing digital transformation, responsible Artificial Intelligence, innovation and sustainable development through higher education.

Held under the theme “Sustainable Empowerment in the Age of AI and New Technology through Higher Education for Global Futures,” AUAP AI 2026 serves as a strategic platform for participants to exchange ideas, showcase best practices, strengthen regional networks and explore how Artificial Intelligence, digital transformation, extended reality and immersive technologies can contribute meaningfully to building a more sustainable, inclusive and resilient future.
