Department of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering

Structure for Department Laboratory

One of the fundamental aspects of an academic programme is the adequacy of physical facilities to support the learning process. The facilities currently available at the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering and the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment (FKAB), as well as the university as a whole are adequate to accommodate the current and near-future needs of the programmes offered by the department. However, the department is continuously upgrading its facilities to cope with the growing needs and the advancement of related fields. This section discusses the availability, adequacy and future plans regarding the facilities for the undergraduate students enrolled in the Manufacturing Engineering Programme.

Safety Procedures at Laboratory

The university has an established policy regarding safe practice in laboratories that is being implemented to staffs and students in order to assure safety in the laboratories. Our department is committed to provide a safe laboratory environment to the students, as well as the staff. The faculty is committed to send laboratories workers/coordinators to attend Laboratory Safety Training, which will provide them with the overview of safe work practice in the laboratories. The lab coordinator is required to introduce basic equipment use and safety during the first laboratory meeting of each semester as discussed.
