INFO JKMB

The Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering was established in 1985, offering academic programmes for bachelor, masters, and doctorate levels in the mechanical and manufacturing engineering disciplines.
In addition, the department utilises several financial sources available (apart from those of the university) to develop certain fields of research, such as Materials Processes, Structural Integrity, Noise and Vibration, Automotive, Computational Mechanics, Renewable Energy, and Advanced Manufacturing, which serve as the backbone of the academic excellence of the department members.
The level of development and achievement attained by the department are reflected by its long list of publications, designs, and products released over time. The Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Programme curriculum provides a strong foundation in the main areas of the field during the four years of study. The curriculum was designed to cover all the fundamental aspects of mechanical and manufacturing engineering. It balances theory with application and provides practical experience with laboratory sessions. As such, the industrial experience gained from the cooperative programme is of immense value.
