Aim & Scope

About MyJEA

Malaysian Journal of Energy and Applications (MyJEA) is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Fuel Cell Institute (SELFUEL), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. The journal advances research and applications in fuel cells, hydrogen technologies, electrochemical energy systems, and energy-related process/chemical engineering, in line with SELFUEL’s national mission to develop indigenous fuel-cell & hydrogen technologies and human capital for sustainable energy.

Scope

MyJEA welcomes Original Articles, Reviews, and Short Communications in (but not limited to) the following areas:

  • Fuel cells: PEM/AEM/SOFC, MEA/materials, durability & diagnostics, systems/BoP, controls and integration.
  • Hydrogen technologies: production/electrolysis, storage, carriers, safety & standards.
  • Electrocatalysis & interfaces: PGM-free catalysts, reaction kinetics, membranes/ionomers.
  • Electrolysis & Power-to-X: green chemicals, ammonia, CO₂ utilization.
  • Energy systems engineering: hybridization with batteries/supercaps, power management, digital twins.
  • Chemical & process engineering for energy: reactor design, scale-up, separation, safety.
  • Environmental electrochemistry: water–energy nexus, monitoring & control.
  • Techno-economics, life-cycle & policy relevant to clean energy transitions.

Primary SDG: SDG 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy: MyJEA prioritizes work that advances reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy access—particularly through fuel cells, hydrogen, and electrochemical energy technologies.

MyJEA is a Diamond (Platinum) Open Access journal, operating under the Gold Open Access model. All published articles are made freely and immediately available online upon publication, with no article processing charges (APCs) or submission fees imposed on authors.
