Professor Mohammad Ali Abdelkareem is a distinguished global researcher and academic leader in Sustainable Energy. He specializes in Fuel Cells, Green Hydrogen production, and Advanced Electrochemical Energy Storage. As a testament to his significant international impact, he has been designated a Highly Cited Researcher (Clarivate 2023) and consistently ranked among Stanford University’s Top 2% of Scientists worldwide since 2019. He is also ranked 111^th globally in the Energy field.

Professor Abdelkareem earned his PhD from Gunma University, Japan, where he pioneered novel fuel cell designs. His current, highly applied research focuses on developing innovative standalone electrodes for fuel cells, supercapacitors, and redox flow batteries, as well as the AI-driven optimization of integrated energy systems. He has secured over $3 million in research funding and holds five granted US patents in energy technologies. Professor Ir. Dr. Nor Aishah Saidina Amin, PhD, FASc, PE, FIChemE, is a distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering currently affiliated with King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia. She obtained her PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, USA, in 1996. Her research expertise spans biofuels, CO₂ utilization and reduction, applied photo- and plasma-catalysis, and chemical reaction engineering, with a strong focus on sustainable energy technologies. She has  nine granted patents and 24 additional patent filings. She has authored six books, eight book chapters, and over 250 Web of Science-indexed journal articles. A Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia and IChemE, she has received numerous prestigious awards, including Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher, 2024 Groundbreaking Contributions category  at the Malaysia Scopus Research Excellence Award and the 2024 MINDS Outstanding Woman Scientist Lifetime Scientific Research Achievement Award. Professor Junji Inukai earned his BSc in 1987, MSc in 1989, and PhD in 1992 in Chemistry from the University of Tokyo, Japan. After working as a research associate at Keio University and as an associate professor at Tohoku University, he became a Full Professor in 2008 at Clean Energy Research Center and Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Nanomaterials Center of the University of Yamanashi, Japan. His research interest covers fuel cell materials and analyses, clean energy, electrochemistry, and instrument development. He has commercialized two analytical instruments. In 2021, he received Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan. Prof. Emeritus Dato’ Ir. Dr. Wan Ramli Wan Daud is a Professor Emeritus in Green Hydrogen Energy at the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). He previously served as a Principal Research Fellow at the University of Malaya (2022-2024) and held the UKM-Petronas Professorship in Sustainable Hydrogen Energy at UKM (2019- 2021). He was also the Founding Director of the Fuel Cell Institute, UKM and has been a long-time professor and researcher in chemical engineering and fuel cell technologies. 

He is a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia, Fellow of The World Academy of Sciences and Fellow of The Institution of Chemical Engineers. He also serves as the Founding President of the Malaysian Association of Hydrogen Energy (MAHE) and the President of the Malaysian Academy of Islamic Science (ASASI).

He received the prestigious Merdeka Award in 2016 for his contributions to hydrogen energy and fuel cell technology, and the Malay Language Academic Figure Award in 2020. He is recognised globally as one of the top 1% most cited researchers in engineering from 2015 to 2022.

He is a strong advocate of the Hydrogen Economy in Malaysia and led the development of two national hydrogen roadmaps (2006 and 2023). His research focuses on green hydrogen production, fuel cells, sustainable drying technologies, and the philosophy of Malay and Islamic technology. He holds 30 patents and has published over 1,000 academic works, including 414 international journal articles. His work has been cited over 22,000 times. Prof. Eileen Yu holds a Chair in Chemical Engineering in the School of Chemsitry and Chemical Engineering. Before join Southampton in 2024, she had academic position at Newcastle University and Loughborough University. After obtained her PhD from Newcastle University pioneering on the development of direct methanol alkaline fuel cells, she worked as a research fellow at Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems, Germany before she returned to Newcastle University to take a prestigious EPSRC Research Fellowship (Life Science Interface). This fellowship enabled her to extend her research into the biosciences, from which she has developed a interdisciplinary research profile.
