Pusat PERMATA@Pintar Negara, UKM

 Inspiring Futures, Nurturing Possibilities

Kolej PERMATA@Pintar Negara, UKM (KPPN UKM) is a government-aided school for gifted and talented students at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. This college opened in January 2011. The centre aims at being the leading centre of excellence for gifted education, providing educational services for the gifted and talented “under one-roof,” and operating under the “no child is left behind” principle. KPPN UKM offers a very challenging high school curriculum.

KPPN UKM students come from all segments of Malaysian society and represent the socioeconomic, ethnic, religious, and linguistic diversity that make Malaysia a melting pot society infused with rich culture. KPPN UKM students are selected through a rigorous three-step process.

KPPN UKM is a five-year high school education program for gifted and talented students. However, students are also allowed to complete the program in less than five years if they qualify for the acceleration program. Talented students who show academic prowess and maturity and can fulfil all graduation requirements may be allowed to graduate early to enable them to enter local and foreign university at young age. They will be awarded with PERMATA@Pintar High School Diploma (HSD), which is used to enter universities in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Japan, and Russia.
