Vulnerability and sustainable livelihood of the Orang Asli of Tasik Chini, Pahang

The general objective of this study is to analyze and understand the livelihood of the Orang Asli of Tasik Chini, Pahang.

The specific objectives of the study are to:

  • Establish the profile of the Orang Asli;
  • Analyze the livelihood assets available to the Orang Asli;
  • Identify key strategies that they employ to make a living, cope with stresses and shocks, and;
  • Propose strategies and programmes to enhance Orang Asli capabilities for long-term well-being

Theoretically, this study uses a Sustainable Livelihood Approach, by focusing on developing 5 key assets, namely human (health, education, skill), economic, environment, social and political (governance, legal).
