The Regional Conference on Solid State Science and Technology (RCSSST) is a well-established biennial conference that brings together academicians, scientists, researchers, post-graduate students and industry professionals to exchange cutting-edge research findings and insights in solid state science and related technologies. RCSSST2026 will be hosted by the Department of Applied Physics, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), in collaboration with the Malaysian Solid State Science and Technology Society (MASS) and the National Nanotechnology Centre (NNC), with the National Advanced Materials Consortium (NAMC) serving as the strategic partner. NAMC acts as a collaborative platform among government agencies, research institutions and industry, with the aim of strengthening R&D capabilities and promoting the commercialization of advanced materials technologies.

RCSSST2026 aligns with national priorities set by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) and the MADANI Framework by promoting research in nanotechnology, advanced materials, semiconductors, energy technologies and solid-state devices. The conference also contributes to key Sustainable Development Goals, including Quality Education (SDG 4), Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG 7), Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9) and Climate Action (SDG 13).
