QS Higher Education Summit: Asia Pacific 2023 Concludes on a High Note

KUALA LUMPUR, 9 November 2023 – The QS Higher Education Summit: Asia Pacific 2023 came to a successful close, uniting 168 panelists from diverse countries and backgrounds. This gathering has facilitated a profound exchange of knowledge and experiences within the realm of higher education.

Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation Affairs, Prof Dato Dr Wan Kamal Mujani expressed his deepest gratitude for the exceptional insights and discussions that took place during the summit, emphasizing the significance of addressing the challenges facing higher education today.

“This conference has successfully built a strategic network and cooperation between universities and industry partners.

“What we do today will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the future world.

“Therefore, let us continue to make efforts and contribute to the creation of new knowledge and solutions to the world’s current challenges,” he said.

Prof Wan Kamal Mujani took pride in acknowledging Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) as the host institution and the remarkable participation of over 900 attendees from across the globe.

“Bringing together academics and industry experts from both the Asia-Pacific region and the wider world is no small feat.

“It is a testament to our shared commitment to advancing higher education and nurturing exceptional human capital,” he remarked.

He concluded by urging attendees to remain committed to the mission of advancing higher education and confronting the challenges presented by the volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) world.

The closing ceremony also featured the exciting announcement that the Macau University of Science and Technology will host the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific next year. Additionally, the Pre-Summit and Post-Summit events will take place at Al Farabi Kazakh National University and Lingnan University Hong Kong, respectively.
