UKM, Harbin University Sign MoU to Strengthen Collaboration in Education

BANGI, 5 July 2023 – Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Harbin Institute of
Technology, Weihai (HIT) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen
collaboration in the higher education of both institutions.


The MoU will see, among others, strategic cooperation in the field of research and academic
programmes; the exchange of students on programmes that will benefit both parties.


Vice Chancellor, Prof Dato Gs Ts Dr Mohd Ekhwan Toriman described the MoU as an
opportunity to capitalise on each other’s strengths, improve academic programmes, and
foster a vibrant environment for intellectual growth and discovery.


“Through this partnership, we will pave the way for joint research projects, faculty and
student exchanges, and the development of innovative academic programs.


“Our collaboration will span various disciplines, fostering interdisciplinary research and
encouraging a holistic approach to education.


“The exchange of ideas, expertise, and resources will undoubtedly enrich the academic
experience of our students and faculty members,” he said.


The MoU was inked by Vice Chancellor, Prof Dato Gs Ts Dr Mohd Ekhwan Toriman and
UKM Center for Shaping Advanced and Professional Education Director, Prof Datuk Dr
Muhammad Hussin.


Meanwhile, Harbin University was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Zhang
Wencong and the Dean of Continuing Education, Mr. Feng Yingtao.
