INDUSTRIAL TRAINING
Industrial Training is a MANDATORY course that students must complete for a specified duration to fulfill program requirements and graduation criteria.
During the training, students will be attached to an organization and perform tasks assigned by an industry supervisor that align with the training objectives. Throughout the duration of the industrial training, students will be supervised and assessed by two supervisors: an Academic Supervisor and an Industry Supervisor. The implementation of this training is based on the requirements set by the Ministry of Higher Education as a condition for awarding a Bachelor’s Degree.
In line with these requirements, the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEP) has made industrial training a compulsory course for the Bachelor in Accounting (Hons), Bachelor in Economics (Hons), and Bachelor in Business Administration (Hons). However, an exception is granted to the Executive Programs (Bachelor in Economics and Bachelor in Business Administration) managed by UKMShape. For the Executive Program (Bachelor in Accounting), the industrial training is not mandatory but will be replaced by a special project.
The objectives of FEP internship are as follows:
- To expose students to the working environment relevant to their specialization.
- To enable students to develop practical skills in the organization.
- To allow students to apply new technologies in the industry.
- To hone professional soft skills such as teamwork, leadership skills, professional ethics & morality,
continuous learning & information management, communication skills, critical thinking & problem-solving
among students. - To provide students with the opportunity to practice concepts and theories in the workplace.
