FEES & REGISTRATION

Yes. Early-bird payment discounts and student rates (for full-time student) are available.

The registration fee includes conference seminar kits, lunch, and coffee break valid for one person with one paper only.

Payment can be made by credit card and wire transfer managed by EDAS conference system after the registration.

Please note that your registration will not be completed until payment is received.

Unfortunately, we do not have any student financial assistance.

No, conference registration fees must be paid in full prior to attending the conference.

ACCOMMODATION AND LOCATION

Yes. Please use the hotel reservation form. Hotel accommodations at special rates have been reserved at Seri Pacific Kuala Lumpur for 2017 International Conference on Space Science and Communication (IconSpace). For Budget Taxi, the estimated fare is around RM74.30 while for Premier Taxi is roughly RM102 from KLIA to SERI PACIFIC HOTEL.

There is also train service KLIA Express to KL Sentral. The fare is approximately RM 55. Then, from KL Sentral, you can take RapidKL Light Rail Transit (LRT) to the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) station. The hotel is about 2-minute walking distance from the PWTC LRT station.

TECHNICAL

Submitting your article

All paper submission will be using EDAS system (https://edas.info/N22695?c=22695). You need to sign up at EDAS in order to submit your paper to us. Kindly refer to the submission guidelines menu for details.

The paper presented in this conference is not limited only to space science and communications studies. It can multidisciplinary as long as able to support the theme of the conference. You can select your research papers on the appropriate topics by referring to the “Call for Papers > Topics” menu in our website.

You can choose to submit your paper as a proceeding paper or book chapter or abstract for JASTP or abstract only or abstract for poster presentation (see the menu of “Paper Submission”):

 

  1. a) Proceeding paper will be published by Journal of Physics: Conference series (JPCS).

JPCS is a peer-reviewed and open access publication from Institute of Physics (IOP) publishing with Online ISSN: 1742-6596 and Print ISSN: 1742-6588. Papers in JPCS are indexed in SCOPUS and ISI Web of Science (WoS).

 

  1. b) The Book Chapter will be published by Springer Nature with a book entitled “Space Science and Communication for Sustainability“.

Springer Nature is one of the world’s leading global research, educational and professional publishers, created in May 2015 through  the combination of Nature Publishing Group, Palgrave Macmillan, Macmillan Education and Springer Science + Business Media. THIS BOOK WILL BE SENT FOR INDEXING BY THE PUBLISHER.

 

  1. c) Abstract for Special Issue (SI) in JASTP by Elsevier

A Special Issue on “Space Science for Sustainability” will be published by Journal of Atmospheric and Solar-Terrestrial Physics (JASTP). The relevant of accepted abstract with the “Space science for sustainability” will be invited to submit a full paper into the Special Issue of the Journal of Atmospheric and Solar-Terrestrial Physics (JASTP). Modified of full paper that was submitted to JPCS or Springer with more than 75% can be submitted to Special Issue of JASTP.

 

  1. d) Book of Abstract:

Abstract Only:

This option is open to anyone who does not intend to provide a full paper or poster. The same abstract is not allowed to be resubmitted for poster or other options. Accepted abstract should be presented as ORAL presentation. New modified abstract with full paper and follow the journal guideline can be submitted into the Special Issue (SI) of JASTP.

Poster:

Submit your poster abstract into the EDAS system. The same poster abstract is not allowed to be resubmitted for JPCS or Springer or other options. Accepted abstract should be presented as POSTER presentation in the poster session. New modified abstract from poster with full paper and follow the journal guideline can be submitted into the Special Issue (SI) of JASTP.

All submission will be done using EDAS system. Please visit EDAS system for your poster submission.  Do take note that you have to sign up at EDAS before submitting your poster.  The registration fee for poster is the same as the registration fee for proceeding paper.

If you choose to present your research in poster form, you need to prepare a poster in A0 size. The standard size for A0 is 841mm by 1189 mm.

Post-Notification Acceptance Procedures

The reviewing process will take within two weeks after the submission deadline and the results of your reviewed paper will be sent to you via email. Your paper will be evaluated at least by two reviewers, and it may take quite a long time. We advise you to constantly check your inbox and notify us should you not received your results three weeks after the submission deadline (31 January 2017).

All papers will be reviewed by two reviewers with expertise related to your research topic. The results will determine whether your paper is accepted with minor/major corrections or rejected.  The notification results will be informed to you the latest by 28 February 2017.

After the authors notified their paper for revision (minor or major), they can resubmit through EDAS system when the registration fee is completed. The author status in the EDAS should be “PAID”. With this status, they can modify the paper until the deadline specified. The submission of revised paper is opened until 3 April 2017.

During Conference

Yes, provided that the presenter is also one of the authors of your research paper.

We would consider this on a case-by-case basis. Participants need to provide a valid reason with evidence for unable to attend the conference. Once your reason is approved, participants can present their paper via online method (Skype) during the conference or send us a video recording of your presentation. The presentation time in a video recording is maximum 10 minutes.

Post-Publication Procedures

All revised papers, once have been corrected, will be sent to the publishers a month after the conference. However, we would like to inform you that published papers will not be printed and will only available online at the publisher website. Kindly take note that organizing committee will contact authors to inform the published paper. The publication with indexing process will take time of more than six months.

 

There will be no correction made by the publishers once your paper has been submitted to them or published. Therefore, we strongly advice authors to make sure to send a paper with the correct details (the author’s name, affiliation, title, content, references, etc.)  to the organizer via EDAS. Please do this before the conference.
