Instrumentation Unit was established under Center for Research and Instrumentation Management (CRIM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 2002 and it was re-branded as i-CRIM Centralised Laboratory in 2016 to provide highest quality of scientific research instrumentation services to researchers coming from academia, government agencies and industries.

i-CRIM is manned by teams of qualified Science Officer whom are well experienced and dedicated in performing analysis using state-of-the-art instrumentation and infrastructure.
