Introduction

Secretariat Industry & Community Partnerships Affairs

is a secretariat that is established to enrich and strengthen the network and productivity, systematic and sustainable engagement between universities and industry & society. Through this it will strengthen UKM’s position as a Research University (RU), across research, education and services.

Role of HEJIM at the UKM Faculty of Medicine:

  • To oversee and implement the UKM Industry and Community Network Strategic Plan, by:
  • Building networks and collaborations with industry and community partners (research, education and services)
  • Support, assist & coordinate community-based student engagement and volunteer activities.
  • Manage and promote academic energy related activities with industry, Non-Government Organization, government agencies and communities.
  • Develop innovative ideas for community engagement and social enterprise that are impactful and meaningful for community development.
  • Promote and support the involvement of faculty and institutes in regional collaboration activities such as the ASEAN University Network
  • Develop and implement governance systems and improve the quality of industry and community engagement through:
  • Monitoring and recording involvement in industry and community activities by the faculty.
  • Coordination of community research grant applications for projects involving industry and community.
  • Provision of allocation and funding requirements to carry out industry and community engagement activities
  • Meet the needs of community service applications through external health and wellness services.
  • Establish any form of bilateral cooperation with industry and community.
  • Managing Health Information Corner and Services at the Main Lobby.
