The partnership between Fakulti Farmasi UKM and other universities is a collaborative initiative designed to enhance the quality of pharmaceutical education, research and healthcare services. This strategic partnership brings together academic excellence, diverse expertise, and innovative approaches from various institutions to foster the growth and development of the pharmacy profession. The cooperation intends to establish a platform for shared knowledge, research and professional development by utilizing each university’s unique strengths, which will benefit both students and lecturers.
Faculty of Pharmacy, UKM collaborates with the College of Pharmacy, Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU), a leading health sciences institution in the Philippines. In 2025, the Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy, UKM was appointed Visiting Professor at OLFU, delivering a lecture on Artificial Intelligence in pharmaceutical care and contributing to academic discussions on clinical training. This partnership strengthens regional collaboration in pharmacy education and professional practice.
Through the EQUITY International Collaborative Research Program, Universitas Sumatera Utara collaborates with the Faculty of Pharmacy, UKM by sending pharmacy students to conduct research under joint academic supervision. In mid-2024, three USU pharmacy students conducted a three month research projects at UKM under the joint supervision of UKM and USU faculty members. This initiative underscores our commitment to promoting international academic exchange, collaborative mentorship, and research capacity-building in pharmaceutical education.
The Faculty of Pharmacy, Thammasat University, Thailand, a leading institution established in 1986 with strong expertise in pharmaceutical education and research collaborates closely with Faculty of Pharmacy, UKM. This partnership has been strengthened through joint research symposia, co-authored publications, and participation in regional academic networks. Together, both faculties aim to enhance knowledge exchange, promote academic mobility, and advance pharmaceutical sciences for the benefit of healthcare in the region.
Recognised as one of Asia’s leading centres for health sciences and pharmacy, Mahidol University has been a long-standing academic partner of the Faculty of Pharmacy, UKM. The collaboration has included joint scientific conferences such as the UKM–Mahidol Joint Scientific Conference and student mobility programmes providing international exposure in pharmacy education and practice. This partnership continues to strengthen academic excellence, encourage cross-cultural learning, and drive innovation in pharmaceutical sciences across the region.
Faculty of Pharmacy, UKM collaborates with the University of San Agustin (USA), a historic Catholic institution founded in 1904 and recognised for its strong tradition in health sciences and pharmaceutical education. The partnership is supported through a formal Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) and academic visits between the two faculties, creating opportunities for student mobility, academic exchange, and collaborative initiatives that strengthen pharmacy education and professional development in the region.
As Asia’s oldest university and a leader in pharmacy education, the University of Santo Tomas maintains a dynamic partnership with Faculty of Pharmacy, UKM. This partnership has grown through student mobility programs, reciprocal academic visits, and, most recently, a strategic dialogue in March 2025 that outlined future directions in student exchange, clinical training, research, and joint conferences. Together, both faculties continue to advance innovation and strengthen regional cooperation in pharmaceutical sciences.
Established in 2015 (evolving from its origins as Alma Ata College founded in 2006), Universitas Alma Ata (UAA) in Yogyakarta is a dynamic and rapidly rising private university rooted in Islamic educational values. Since formalizing cooperation with the Faculty of Pharmacy, UKM through an MoU in March 2024 which was signed by senior leadership from both institutions—the partnership has focused on strengthening research, enhancing journal development, and facilitating faculty and student exchanges, with the broader aim of bolstering governance and academic quality.
The University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC) in Davao City has grown into a respected institution with strong programs in pharmacy and health sciences. The Faculty of Pharmacy, UKM engages with UIC through academic exchanges and capacity-building activities. In 2020, UKM’s Dean, Prof. Dr. Mohd Makmor Bakry, delivered a series of lectures on molecular pharmacology, pharmacotherapy, and data-driven pharmacy practice, fostering professional dialogue and enriching faculty development. Such collaborations continue to strengthen academic ties and contribute to advancing pharmacy education in the region.
