This course is a course Advanced Diploma in Midwifery, specially designed for Registered Nurses who have a Diploma in Nursing or Bachelor of Nursing. At the end of the course, graduates can work safely in various aspects of obstetrics, gynecology and neonatology.
The content of the curriculum covers 6 aspects: Women’s Health, Community Care focus on Family and Culture, antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum and Neonatology. Jagarawat curriculum approach integrates engineering and medical science concerned with the latest and emotional needs of women, family and newborn. The curriculum also focuses on preventive aspects, identify early problems, the education of women / mothers and their families and progressive care from pregnancy through to the beginning of the family.
The curriculum is run full time for one academic year or two semesters by using a modular approach. The exercise conducted in partnership between the Department of Nursing, Department of Family Medicine and Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Faculty of Medicine, UKM Medical Centre in charge of the control theory, practice and student assessment.
