Introduction

The Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) is a one-year programme (3 semesters) designed to enhance competencies in dietetics practice. Open to nutritionists from Malaysia and abroad—whether in service or newly graduated—the programme strengthens practical skills in catering services as well as patient nutritional care, particularly for individuals requiring specialised nutrition support in hospital settings. Graduates are prepared to contribute to quality dietetics services across hospitals, outpatient and community clinics, and may also undertake consultancy roles in nutrition and healthcare.

Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.75, obtained from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia or any other university recognized by the Senate, and having passed an interview as stipulated by the faculty, in the following fields:

    • Didactic (without clinical training), or
    • Nutrition or equivalent

OR

Bachelor’s Degree with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 2.50 but below 2.75, obtained from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia or any other university recognized by the Senate, with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant working experience, and having passed an interview as stipulated by the faculty, in the following fields:

    • Didactic (without clinical training), or
    • Nutrition or equivalent

The Malay Language requirements for international candidates are as follows:

International students must take the Malay Language course as an Audit course to be eligible for the degree as prescribed by the University. The courses are as follows:

a) Non-Nusantara Students – LMCM1083 Malay Language International Communication

b) Nusantara Students – LMCM1093 Malay Language for Nusantara Students

  • Pass the interview as stipulated by the faculty.
    • RM 25,000.00 (Malaysian)
    • RM 32,000.00 (International)
