Kepakaran

  • Klimatologi, Oseanografi Fizis
  • Pemodelan Iklim Rantauan
  • Oseanografi
  • Perubahan Iklim
  • Variasi Iklim  (ENSO, IOD, MJO)

Penyelidikan

  • Perubahan iklim rantauan & permodelan rantauan (CORDEX Asia Tenggara)
  • Keragaman iklim (Jangka masa dalam-musiman kepada antara-tahunan; MJO, IOD, ENSO)
  • Fenomena jangka masa sinoptik dan cuaca (Pusaran Borneo)

The projected increases of mean temperatures over Southeast Asia under RCP4.5 and 8.5 emission scenario based on CORDEX SEA simulations.

The projected dryness (based on CDD) over Southeast Asia by end of 21st century under RCP4.5 and 8.5. Note the significant drying over Indonesia and Malaysia, especially during JJA and SON.

The PDF of projected CDD over southern Sumatra under unmitigated climate change (RCP8.5), showing clear shift to the right, indicating much drier condition by end of the century. Interestingly, the CDDs of the 1997/98 and 2015/16 El Nino were considered extremes in current climate, may be “normal” by the end of 21st century.
