Pharmacy Awareness is an annual initiative organised by the Faculty of Pharmacy to educate and engage the public. The primary objectives of this programme are to promote awareness on the safe use of registered medicines, supplements, probiotics, prebiotics, health products, and meal replacements, and to highlight the crucial role pharmacists play in safeguarding community health. This year’s event, themed “Cantik dan Sihat, Secara Selamat!” (Beautiful and Healthy, Safely!), took place on 20th April 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Paradigm Mall, Petaling Jaya.
As part of the Pharmacy Awareness programme, a Blood Donation Drive was also conducted in collaboration with Pusat Darah Negara. Held on 16th April 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Bilik Aktiv, Block D, UKM KL. This event was open to the public and received active participation from students and staff of the faculty. The drive aimed to encourage voluntary blood donation while promoting community responsibility and health awareness.
The programme commenced with a welcoming address by Project Director, Ms. Khaleeda through an introductory video. Simultaneously, booths such as NPRA, Good Morning, Lipidware, NCSM and Kenali Ubat Anda began engaging with the public, while health screening stations opened for registration, offering BMI checks, blood pressure and blood sugar tests, as well as pharmacist consultations. These services, along with free gifts and interactive exhibits, attracted significant public interest.
The day featured a Pharmacy Awareness Quiz, live singing performances, and interactive sessions between sponsors, collaborators, and attendees—creating a meaningful experience for all. The closing ceremony began at 2:00 p.m., marked by the arrival of president of Malaysian Pharmacist Society (MPS), Prof Amrahi Bin Buang and then an insightful speech by Prof Amrahi Bin Buang. Tokens of appreciation were presented, followed by a photo session and guided booth tours.
Sponsors such as Good Morning Company and Lipidware Company conducted insightful sharing sessions on nutrition and safe cosmetic use. The event concluded at 8:30 p.m., having successfully raised public awareness and provided students with valuable communication experience.
