Full time

• Minimum period is 4 semesters
• Maximum period is 12 semesters

Part-time

• Minimum period is 8 semesters
• Maximum period is 14 semesters

An international applicant who will be writing his/her dissertation in English should have obtained:

• A band of 6.0 for the International English Language Testing System (Academic); or
• A score of 60 for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) iBT
• A score of 8-9 for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Essentials
• A band of 4.5 for Malaysian University English Test
• A band of 7 for Higher Education English Test

International students are required to attend and pass a basic course of Bahasa Melayu before the degree can be conferred

Applicants should possess one of following:

• Master’s degree or its equivalent in relevant discipline/field,or

• Any other qualifications approved by the Senate (except for conversion from Master’s to Doctorate programme.
  • Preference will be given to applicants having a Bachelor’s Degree with CGPA 2.75 and above or its equivalent.
  • Applicants having a Bachelor’s Degree with CGPA 3.7 and above can apply directly for the PhD programme.
  • ** International students are required to achieve at least band 6.0 IELTS (academic) or a score of 550 TOEFL if they had obtained their Bachelor’s degree from a university in which the medium of instruction is other than English
