KITA was established on October 8, 2007, as the only research institute in Malaysia that fully focuses on the study of ‘ethnic’ and ‘ethnicity’. From Semester 2 of 2009/2010 Academic Session, KITA offers two postgraduate programmes by research mode. As of January 14, 2025, approximately 70 students are currently enrolled both programmes combined.
