PROGRAMME SUMMARY

Chemical Technology is a discipline of knowledge focusing on processing of materials, polymers and products that involves chemical sciences, techniques and instrumentations. The Chemical Technology Programme is offered by the UKM to meet the increasing demand for competent employees from public as well as private sectors. The programme combines Chemical Sciences, Chemical Engineering as well as other related fields, particularly Information Technology and Business Management. This enables the students to have a complete understanding of the knowledge, with high appreciation towards the technology and its applications that will contribute to the advance in the industry sector of the country without neglecting the sustainable environmental management.

In the first year, students will attend to basic courses in Chemistry. In the second year and third year, students will be introduced to basic and compliment courses from Chemical Sciences and Chemical Engineering as well as a few liberal subjects that are essential in producing students with the right character to become a leader in industry, entrepreneurship and public sectors. Students will undergo Industrial Training in the fourth year to get them exposed to working environment and real experience in terms of technical aspects, management and interaction.
