In 1974, Psychology program produced its first batch of students in psychology. Many of them have been successful in their respective fields and engaged in the public service and private sector. Few others decided to return to the university, either as academicians and/or administrative officers. To cater to the growing needs of psychology knowledge in the field, the Department of Psychology was established in 1977.  The establishment of this is in line with the expansion of psychology knowledge and demand at that time.
