Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment

Graduate Programmes

Applications are opened to all qualified prospective students to enroll in the following graduate programmes at the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM):

  • Master by Coursework
  • Master of Science
  • Doctor of Philosophy

Master by Coursework is targeted for students that have long left the university or working professionals who wish to upgrade their knowledge by taking advanced professional skilled courses without involvement in a long research.

Students who enroll in these programmes are required to take advanced courses that had been specified and also produce a master project report at the end of their study period. Candidates are required to register and pass 40-45 credit hour courses including a Research Project. Unit for Research Project is between 8-12 units.

Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy are targeted for students who are interested in research work and wish to continue their career as researchers or academicians. Students who enroll in these programmes are required to produce a thesis at the end of their study period.The thesis will be judged by examiners and defended by the candidate in an oral presentation.

Note :
*All Programmes intake are offered only in Semester I except for Master of Engineering (Civil) where intakes are offered both in Semester I and II for every Session.
All lectures are conducted during office hours Monday to Friday (8.00 am – 5.00 pm)
