  • Candidates must pass with at least grade B in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in the STPM examination, or at least grade B in Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology and at least 4B in Physics at the SPM level, or

  • Candidates must possess a good diploma in the field of Engineering/Science from recognized institutions.

Tuition fees for sponsored students are paid directly to the University by the sponsoring body. The holders of University scholarships which cover tuition fees are regarded as sponsored students for this purpose. Students who intend to pay their fees from their own funds are regarded as self-financed. Graduate Research Assistantships (GRA) Under the Graduate Research Assistantship Scheme (Skim Bantuan Siswazah Penyelidikan)

students can obtain financial assistance based on approval by the supervisor and availability of the research project funding. The remuneration paid to the student who is currently pursuing a Master’s programme or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia are RM 1,800.00 per month and RM2,000 per month, respectively.

Dual Degree Academic Programme between the faculty of Engineering & Built Environment UKM and Universität Duisburg-Essen, Germany

Cooperation between Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia through the Faculty of Engineeirng (UKM) and the Universität Duisburg-Essen, Germany through academic programmes has been established on 25th September 2002. The engineering programmes under this cooperation between the two universities are:

Engineering students from the respective programmes who have finished 3 years or 6 consecutive semesters at the faculty whom have achieved CGPA of at least 3.0 will be allowed to apply for the final year study at Universität Duisburg-Essen, Germany. The selected students will follow an intensive German language course and continue their two final semesters courses at the German university. The duration is about 18 months. The first batch of the students who had been enrolled to the German university in 2004 had finished their final year courses with excellence. These students have been awarded with UKM and UDE Engineering degrees. German students of the same level of studies have also enrolled at the Faculty of Engineering & Built Environment UKM, Bangi.
