Malaysian Consultative Council on Foreign Policy Appointment, 21 October 2018
KITA-UKM Principal Research Fellow Prof. Datuk Dr. Denison Jayasooria in his capacity as co-chair of the Malaysian CSO-SDG Alliance has been appointed member of the newly-formed Malaysian Consultative Council on Foreign Policy (CCFP).
Foreign Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah announced the official setting up of the consultative council consisting of 15 member panel of experts after chairing the first meeting held on Sunday October 21, 2018. The panel consists of five ministry officials and the other 10 include a former ambassador, representatives from NGOs and the private sector as well as international relations experts. They are currently tasked with advising the ministry in preparing a foreign policy framework of the New Malaysia which contains 11 areas of concern.
