3rd Food & Society International Conference, 28-30 March 2019
KITA via its Food and Ethnicity Cluster together with Asia Pacific Food Studies Network and Institute of Gastronomy, University of Cergy-Pontoise, organized the 3rd Food & Society International Conference (F&S2019) from March 28th to 30th, 2019 in Paris, France. The conference captured a broad participations and audience from 21 countries, all came together for their mutual interest in food, be it a research object or simply an authentic passion. Following the previous Food and Society Conferences’ format, F&S2019 featured a variety of programs:
- welcoming cocktail
- welcome addresses by The Gastronomy Institute, University of Cergy-Pontoise; KITA-UKM; the Embassy of Malaysia in France
- keynote addresses by Distinguished Prof. Datuk Dr. Shamsul Amri Baharuddin (KITA-UKM) and Prof. Emeritus Dr. Jean-Loup Amselle (Γcole des Hautes Etudes
en Sciences Sociales, Paris, France) - academic discourse by the Peranakan panel, Ulam School panel and Arts & Techniques panel
