Inter-faculty Sports Carnival (IFASC) 2021/2022

Inter-faculty Sports Carnival or also known as IFaSC is an annual sports event that involves 4 different faculties which are Faculty of Medicine (FPER), Faculty of Pharmacy (FFAR), Faculty of Health Sciences (FSK) and Faculty of Dentistry (FGG). This year, IFaSC was organized by the student association of the Faculty of Pharmacy with the theme of “Embracing Sportsmanship, Pursuing Championship”. Not just that, this session of IFaSC also brought another interesting surprise when it was held as a hybrid event, which means there were both physical and virtual sports for the students to join. Physical sports that IFaSC held were badminton singles, futsal, netball, frisbee and volleyball. For virtual sports, IFaSC held a few online games such as Mobile Legends, PUBG mobile, Valorant, online chess and virtual run. Students had the time to apply for their participation in IFaSC from the 25th of April until the 1st of May 2022 by filling out the registration form. With this, all participants will receive a certificate of participation and merits.

The carnival started with a Virtual Run Competitive (10km) and Champion Run (3km/5km) from the 3rd of June 2022 until the 9th of June 2022. Then on the 10th of June 2022, the IFaSC opening ceremony was held in the evening and at night IFaSC continued with some virtual sports which were Mobile Legends, PUBG mobile and Valorant. The very next day, physical sports finally started along with virtual sports. The physical sports that were held on that day were women’s badminton, men’s futsal and women’s volleyball. The feeling on the morning of the carnival was very lively and cheerful as there were also a lot of booths selling a variety of foods and drinks. Unfortunately, the weather that day was overcast and it started to rain after a few hours. However, it did not dampen the spirits of the players and the carnival continued successfully. In the evening, IFaSC continued with virtual sports which were online chess, Mobile Legends, PUBG mobile and Valorant. The hectic day eventually ended with virtual sports around 11:30 pm. The next day came with a lot of joy and laughter when other students also joined to support all the players. The sports that were held that day were men’s badminton, women’s netball, mixed Ultimate Frisbee, men’s volleyball and Valorant. All the players gave their best to win the games. At night, the carnival continued with the IFaSC closing ceremony; that was how the last day of IFaSC ended.

The IFaSC closing ceremony was joined by all the players and the members of the organization. The event started with an opening speech by the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr Adliah Binti Mhd Ali. Then, the closing ceremony proceeded with awarding the awards to the players who won the games held. The overall IFaSC medal standings were ranked as FPER, FSK, FFAR and FGG accordingly, meaning that the Faculty of Medicine was the overall winner. Regardless, congratulations to all the players who gave their best efforts for this session of IFaSC.
