MyPSA National Pharmacy Competition (NPC) 22/23

MyPSA National Pharmacy Competition (MyPSA NPC) is an annual event participated by different societies of pharmacy students nationwide. This year, the event was organised by Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), carrying the theme “PHARMACY IN TRAINING: Experience is the mother of wisdom”. With the aim of creating a healthy competition in terms of clinical knowledge and personal self-skills development as well as promoting networking opportunities among pharmacy students in Malaysia, the competition consisted of three challenges, namely Clinical Pharmacy Challenge (CC), Piala Aishah Compounding Challenge (PA) and Pharmacy Quiz Challenge (QC).

On 29 April 2023, the competition was preceded by an opening ceremony, followed by briefing to participants for qualifying Round 1 and Preliminary Round in CC. There were eight universities which successfully qualified for Round 2, while the top 4 winning universities would gain tickets to enter the Final Round of CC. Both Round 2 and Final Round were conducted on 30 April 2023. Next, during the second weekend of NPC, the event commenced with PA, whereby the Preliminary Round and Semi-Final Round were held on 6 May 2023. There were eight universities which successfully qualified for the Preliminary Round. The final round was then held on the next day between the top 4 universities that won the Semi-Final Round of PA. The competition later proceeded with QC in the third week of NPC, whereby the Preliminary Round and Semi Final Round were held on 13 May 2023. Similar to PA, the Preliminary Round was joined by eight qualified universities and the final round was held on the following day in which the top 4 universities that won the Semi-Final Round partook.
