Student Mobility Programme: Mahidol University, Thailand. 2

Welcome to Mahidol University: Wisdom of the Land! From here, 10 of us started our 26 days study visit in Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY), from 3rd- 28th August 2015. Together with Dr Norazrina Azmi, we had our first meeting with Assoc. Prof. Usa Chaikledkaew, Deputy Dean for International Relations of Mahidol University on the second day. During these days, we had classes with Year 3 MUPY students, 14 exchange students from Indonesia and 10 students from Taylor’s University, Malaysia.

Besides informative classes, we had study visits to some places, such as the main campus (Salaya Campus), Clinical Pharmacy Practice setting and Community Pharmacy Practice setting. What amazed us the most was the Thai traditional medicine application at Siriraj Hospital because it has world class hospitality and facilities.

There are a lot of things for us to discover. For Thais, they show politeness to others by practicing “wai”, a prayer-like gesture. During the weekends, we had cultural visits to the Grand Palace, Wat Suthat, Wat Saket and other cultural places. We were so lucky to enjoy Mother’s Day (Thailand Queen’s birthday). Lastly, local foods such as Tom Yam Goong, coconut ice cream, Pad Thai(Thai style fried noodles) are highly recommended in Bangkok.

To the juniors, do join this programme to kick start your own memorable study visit in Mahidol University, Thailand!
