The 3rd Multidisciplinary Regional Conference in Science and Technology 2026 (MRCST’26) is a student-led initiative by the Students Representative of Faculty of Science and Technology (PMFST) , Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), aimed at exposing students to scientific innovation, interdisciplinary research, and real-world problem-solving. Established in 2024 by the External and Alumni Relations Executive of PMFST, the conference is implemented on a rotating basis with the Academic Executive PMFST as the main executor. MRCST’26 serves as a dynamic platform that brings together undergraduates, postgraduates, young researchers, academics, and industry professionals to exchange ideas, present research findings, and foster meaningful collaboration across multiple scientific disciplines.
As a multidisciplinary conference, MRCST’26 covers a broad range of scientific and technological fields, including biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, mathematics, geoscience, and related areas. The programme offers three main participation categories—Oral Presentation, Poster Presentation, and Innovation—each designed to enhance scientific communication skills, critical thinking, and professional development. These categories are structured under five subthemes: Physics and Mathematics, Advances in Biological Science, Chemical and Food Science, Geoscience and Earth Science, and Engineering.
This year, MRCST’26 carries the theme “Science and Technology for Optimized Resource Utilization.” In response to increasing pressure on natural and digital resources, the conference highlights the importance of efficiency, sustainability, and innovation. The theme emphasizes how science and technology can enable smarter and more effective utilization of energy, materials, and data to address global challenges. Through interdisciplinary discussions and the presentation of practical innovations, MRCST’26 aims to promote sustainable solutions that benefit both industry and the environment, while empowering students to think beyond disciplinary boundaries and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of science and technology.
