KUALA LUMPUR, 13 August 2016 – Karnival Jom Masuk FSK 2016, organised by UKM’s Faculty of Health Sciences, has successfully give more exposure to future students about the fields of study offered by the faculty.

According to UKM Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academic and International Affairs, Prof. Dato’ Ir. Dr. Riza Atiq Abdullah OK Rahmat, most students still cannot see the difference between Health Sciences and Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy and this carnival has enabled them to understand the difference.

“They think that Health Sciences also offers courses in medicine, dentistry and pharmacy,” he said during the carnival’s Opening Ceremony, recently.

He added that the field of Health Sciences is very wide and students can choose to enrol in programmes which include physiotherapy, nutritional sciences, forensic science, occupational therapy, dietetics, optometry and audiology.

“The carnival gives teachers, parents, and students the opportunity to know more about this facilities offered in FSK and also job opportunities, should they decide to enrol in this field of study,” he said.

Meanwhile, FSK Dean, Prof. Dr. Bariah Mohd Ali said that the faculty is currently offering 12 programmes.

“Based on the courses offered, it is clear that the faculty meets the current needs of the Government that is currently generating collective transformation.

“FSK is very confident in producing qualified and highly credible graduates in the field of health sciences,” she said.ukmnewsportal-eg
