Lively Eid Celebration at UKM

BANGI, July 21, 2017 – The Eid Celebration at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) was made more meaningful with the presence of children from Bangi and Rohingya.

Ambassadors from countries such as Australia, Canada and Germany also shared the liveliness of the event when they attended and experienced Eid celebration at UKM.

UKM Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dato’ Seri Dr Noor Azlan Ghazali said the celebration of Hari Raya will strengthen the bonds between families and friends.

“Today is a day of victory for Muslims and also for UKM in the context of achieving excellence,” he said.

A wide variety of traditional and modern delicacies were made available for guests including rendang, nasi dagang, laksa, satay, grilled lamb and fruits.

Music and dance performances were prepared to keep the guests entertained.

At the event, UKM received zakat contributions from various parties such as a check of dividend worth RM2.5 million from UKM Holdings Sdn Bhd and RM 131,000 from Koperasi Unikeb Berhad.

UKM also distributed duit raya to children at the event.

The event was also attended by the Chairman of UKM Board of Directors Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr Ibrahim Saad and wife, LPU members and UKM Deputy Vice-Chancellors.
