SUBANG JAYA, 13 October 2016 – Since its inception in 2011, the SME@UKM programme has produced a lot of entrepreneurs who are knowledgeable in various fields, including a Chief Executive Officer.

UKM Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academic and International Affairs, Prof. Dato’ Ir. Dr. Riza Atiq Abdullah OK Rahmat said the SME@UKM programme aims to empower community with entrepreneurial skills.

“This programme is a good platform for linking the business community and university.

“For example, the community of entrepreneurs will be able access the expertise, information and skills at the university to increase their business performance,” he said at the 2016 SME@UKM Graduation Ceremony, recently.

The university, meanwhile, will get inputs from the industry which can help the course to be more established.

A total of 20 entrepreneurs received their graduation certificate at the ceremony.

The SME@UKM is a three-month programme organised in cooperation between Human Recourses Development Berhad (PSMB), SMECorp and UKM’s Faculty of Economy and Management.

The module for this programme was designed in collaboration with the SME Tokyo University, Japan.ukmnewsportal-eg
