BANGI, 20 December 2014 – Students and staff of The National University of Malaysia (UKM) can now again use the Tun Sri Lanang Library (TSL) surau or prayer room following its renovation.

The surau which had undergone a facelift is now equipped with various facilities. It was officially opened by TSL Chief Librarian, Hafsah Mohd today.

Some 40 students and other volunteers, led by President of the Students’ Union Muhammad Sallehudin Khalid carried out a gotong-royong to clean and tidy up the room.

The UKM Islamic Centre donated carpets, prayer rugs and 30 copies of the Koran for the surau while the project developer Integrated Trading Sdn. Bhd donated paint which was handed over by its director Haji Rosli Hj Adam.

Hafsah representing the Vice Chancellor hoped the surau will continue to carry out various programmes for the benefit of students and staff of UKM.
