Endometrial Cancer Research Group

Research Overview
The Endometrial Cancer Research Group is interested in discovering and validating putative biomarkers for the early detection and prediction of various endometrial cancer outcomes. We are currently working on a considerable amount of research projects, aiming to provide the shreds of pre-clinical evidence for changes that may translate into clinical practice. Our research focused on a wide range of common gynaecological issues and targeted signalling pathways; contributing to a better knowledge of endometrial cancer prevention, diagnosis and management.
The research group has also emphasised the overall wellbeing of endometrial cancer’s women impacted by gynaecological issues and fertility, and the quality of life factors that arise as a consequence of these conditions. As part of the drive to promote women’s health, we sought to develop tools that would aid women experiencing these sorts of challenges, as well as several public health initiatives for women to encourage endometrial cancer screening in our community.

Ongoing Research Projects
– Correlation between PTEN, KRAS, IGF-1 and IGFBP-1 in women with endometrioid adenocarcinoma.
– Waist to hip ratio and or HOMA-IR index as a predictive tool for IGF-1 mediated insulin resistance in type 1 endometrial cancer.
– Immunoprofiling of PD-1 signalling pathway among women among with endometrial cancer.
