RESEARCH INTEREST

The UKM Reproductive Research Group gathers scientists, researchers, postgraduate students who are actively involved in this field. We work to improve mainly in women’s health by developing research and advancing scientific knowledge focusing on different types of diseases especially in women. Our team conducts research that assists in understanding of molecular processes in reproductive diseases such as gynaecological cancers. The research conducting by this team involves clinical and laboratory investigations targeting specific biomarkers and potential pathways that involve in various types of diseases in women.

Gynaecological Disease and Cancer Research Researchers in this group performed research focusing on gynecologic diseases and cancers that begin in the female reproductive organs. 4 main gynaecological disease and cancer they actively doing research are on Endometriosis, PCOS, Ovarian cancer and Endometrial cancer. Researchers in this group mainly conduct laboratory research on understanding the cell biology and behaviour of gynaecological cells and cancer. Besides aiming to improve outcome and management of the disease and cancer, research on women with gynaecological cancer who have recurrent disease was also included.

Feto Maternal Health Research

Research team members of the Reproductive Research group in this unit actively conducting research involving clinical, basic bench, translational research and research trials pertaining feto maternal health. One of its primary missions is to improve the management and outcome of feto maternal health and well-being. Also, new technologies were adapted recently in designing studies targeted to discover new biomarkers with biological and clinical relevance for preterm birth, preeclampsia, and etc.
