Law Library
The Law Library is one of the four special libraries within the Tun Seri Lanang Library system. It was set up in 1985 as part of the Main Library to support a newly established four year law degree programme. It moved to its new premise at the Faculty of Law in June 1996

Collections
General Collection
General books are shelved at the open shelve at Level 1of the library with call numbers preceded by 2C. There are also non-law books in the library which are shelved together with the general books with call numbers preceded by 21. These collections can be borrowed.
Reference Collection
This collection has a location code RUJ in GEMILANG and is located at Level 1 of the Law Library. The materials can be used within the library only. The reference collection comprises reference books such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, almanacs and samples of court forms.
Statute Collection
Statute comprises Acts, Revised Acts, Legislation, Ordinance, Enactments, Gazettes and parliamentary debates. All materials are located at Level 2 and with call numbers preceded by 2A.
Law Reports Collection
Law Reports are a collection of reported or unreported court cases and digests. All materials are located at Level 2 and with call numbers preceded by 2B.
Law Journals Collection
Journals are arranged according to title and in an alphabetical order. List of journals placed on each stack is posted on the front panel of the stack to assist users in locating the materials.
Seminar Paper's Collection
Seminar Papers are located at the Reference Collection at Level 1 and can be used within the library for reference purposes only.
Undergraduates Project / Thesis Collection
Dissertations are all in microform format. To get the call number, users may refer to the catalogue of dissertations. Microfiche and microfilm readers are available at the Borrowing Counter at Level 1 and all materials are for reference purposes only.
Hookers' Collection
This is a close access collection located at the Hooker Collection room at Level 2 and with call number preceded by 23. The collection was once owned by Prof. M. B. Hooker who was an Orientalist. Reference to the materials can be made within the collection room only.
YM Raja Aziz Addruse Collection
This collection consists of journals, legal reports, statutes and books donated by Mrs. Catherine Addruse, wife of the late YM Raja Aziz Addruse. The late YM Raja Aziz was a lawyer and famously known for his principles of humanity and was elected as the Bar Council President for 3 times. This collection is located in a special space on the second floor and can be referred only within that collection area.
YM Tengku Ahmad Rithauddeen Collection
This collection is located in the Library Faculty Room and is a contribution from YM Tengku Ahmad Rithauddeen bin Tengku Ismail, former Pro-Chancellor of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. This collection can be referred only within the library
ASEAN Law Collection
This collection was developed in 2013 and consists of books related to the laws of ASEAN countries and is located at the Library Lounge. The collection is given the prefix ‘22’ and can be borrowed.

Overdue books are subjected to fines at the following rates:
General Collections RM0.30 per book per day
Red Spot Collection RM 3.00 per book per day

- Replace the book with the same or newer edition plus processing fee of RM100.00 OR replace the book with the same subject plus processing fee of RM100.00 OR pay the current price of the book plus processing fee of RM100.00

This service is to assist users to use the library effectively, in getting required materials or information regarding law and also to answer specific requests for information such as finding the source of a particular quotation or tracing a difficult reference. A staff will provide assistance to all enquiries about the library and its collections, such as the use of the library’s online catalogue, various reference books, indexes, abstracts and others. These services are available at the Information Service Division at Level 2.

InterLibrary Loan (ILL) service is offered to assist library users in obtaining materials which are not available in the collection. Through this service the library will supply photocopies of articles or cases to the requestor. Requests can be made by filling up interlibrary loan form available at the Borrowing Counter at Level 1. Charges will be incurred according to the rate determined by the supplying library

The Information Skills Course is a guidance and education service programme for Law Library customers. The main aim of this course is to build skills in accessing a variety of materials and information sources especially law collections; and to guide the customers towards using the materials and services provided by the library with efficiency, effectively and independently. This course contains 3 modules:
LS581: Law Information Skills – Electronic Resources
LS582: Law Information Skills – Printed Resources
LS583: Information Skills – Endnote (specialized software for bibliographic)
Resulted as customer feedback, Level 2 of UKM Law Library converted to quiet zone. This zone aiming to provide conducive environment to make reference, research, do an assignment and also make a revision. Discussion collectively only permitted in discussion rooms and also in Level 1.
Facilities
There are 3 Discussion Roomsat Level 2. Two rooms are for Undergraduate students while the other one is only for Postgraduate students. Each room is able to accommodate between 5 to 15 users. Request for the discussion rooms is available at the Borrowing Counter at Level 1.
Users can read newspapers, popular magazines or novels at this area. This area is situated at Level 1 (in front of the Borrowing Counter) as well as at Level 2 (near the Journal Collection section). Reading and browsing of these materials are restricted to the provided corner.
This facility is located at Level 2 and is furnished with audio-visual equipment. Faculty members and students are permitted to utilize it for teaching and discussion purposes. Apart from that, this room is also used for official purposes such as visitors reception roomfrom outside institution. Request for the lab is available at the Borrowing Counter at Level 1.
WiFi connection is available on both levels of the library and to the nearby area surrounding it. The usage is free and unlimited.
