CLINICAL FELLOWSHIP IN PUBLIC HEALTH EPIDEMIOLOGY AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASES

1. Independent and Certified Public Health Physician OR has completed recognized public health specialist training (for overseas candidates) with a strong interest in Communicable Diseases Prevention and Control.
2. Applicants who have completed an attachment in facilities health facilities involved in managing Communicable Diseases (CDs) or having at least 3 years working experience managing Communicable Diseases prevention and control program.
3. Required to submit a current curriculum vitae (CV) including two referees.
4. Required to submit a letter of standing or support from the current employer or institution for the programme application.

By the end of the programme, the candidate should be able to:

1. Apply evidence-based decision-making, critical thinking, and lifelong learning in CD prevention and control practice.
2. Plan for community-based CD control initiatives and programs.
3. Demonstrate effective leadership, communication, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity in the implementation of CD control programmes.

1. Plan and lead a program or project focusing on interventions for communicable diseases (CDs), collaborating closely with multidisciplinary professionals and relevant agencies.
2. Evaluate the CD control and prevention program utilizing the existing diseases surveillance system.
3. Actively participate in departmental academic activities, including supervision training, scientific seminar discussions, and critical journal appraisals.
4. Record all fellowship-related activities and experiences in a student-led customised logbook.
5. Publish at least one technical report, policy paper, or research article accepted in a peerreviewed journal nc.

Certificate of completion of training certified by Course Director and Dean, Faculty of Medicine UKM will be given to all successful candidates.

1. Applicants are required to submit a current CV with two named referees.
2. Applicants are also required to submit a good standing letter from the employer/institution, for the program application.
3. Applications must be submitted at least six months from the intended start date.
4. Overseas candidates (non-Malaysian) are required to apply and pay for a Temporary Practicing Certificate by the Malaysian Medical Council.
