| Admission Requirements
Academic Qualifications
Master of Public Health/ Community Health/ Society Health/ Community Medicine from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM); OR
other universities recognised by the Senate of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM); AND
Obtained a minimum CGPA of 3.20 at the Master's level; AND
Obtained at least a grade B (grade point 3.00) in the basic courses of Principles of Society Health/ Community Medicine/ Public Health as follows:
i. Epidemiology
ii. Biostatistics
iii. Environmental Health (Environmental and/or Occupational Health)
iv. Family Health (Population) and/or Social Behavioural Science
v. Health Policy and Health Management
vi. Research Methodology
Local candidates: Registered with the Malaysian Medical Council and possess an Annual Practising Certificate; AND
Passed the interview conducted by the department.
International Applicants
English Proficiency
International candidates must submit proof of English language proficiency. Eligible candidates must have IELTS ≥ band 6.5 or an equivalent examination approved by the Senate taken within two years prior to application; AND
All international candidates are required to take a Malay Language course as a graduation requirement; AND
Financial Requirements
Self-Financed & International Students
A letter / proof of financial support must be attached. All International and self-financed applicants must produce an accepted written proof of financial status either in a form of an active bank / financial Institution statement or accepted letter of guarantee.

- Bachelor Degree in Medical Doctor from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM); OR Bachelor Degree in Medical Doctor from other universities that’s recognized by the Senate of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM); AND
- Degree in Master of Public Health / Community Health / Community Medicine or Master in Community Health Science from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) OR other universities that’s recognized by the Senate of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) ; AND
- Registered with the Malaysian Medical Council (Malaysian student); AND
- International students must have proficiency in spoken and written English with IELTS ≥ Band 6.5 OR any equivalent qualifications, taken within the last two years prior to application; AND
- A letter / proof of financial support must be attached. All International and self-financed applicants must produce an accepted written proof of financial status either in a form of an active bank / financial Institution statement or accepted letter of guarantee.
