The Graduate Studies Empowerment Workshop with Graduate Program Coordinators, organized by the Graduate Studies Secretariat (SPS), Faculty of Medicine, led by Prof. Datin Dr. Norlinah Mohamed Ibrahim, Deputy Dean (Graduate Studies), was held from 15 to 17 August 2025 at Swiss-Garden Beach Resort, Kuantan, Pahang. The workshop was graced by the presence of Prof. Datin Dr. Marina Mat Baki, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Mohamad Nasir Shafiee, Deputy Dean (Research & Innovation), Faculty of Medicine Management Members, Graduate Program Coordinators, as well as staff of the Faculty of Medicine.
This workshop is a continuous effort by SPS to strengthen graduate studies at the Faculty of Medicine. Such empowerment is crucial to enhance visibility and attract more students, aligning with the faculty and university’s goal of becoming a world-renowned hub for graduate education. Also held was the Program Coordinators Appreciation Ceremony themed “Around the World,” in recognition of the contribution and commitment of coordinators in managing programs at the departmental level.
Throughout the three-day program, participants engaged in group discussions focusing on strategic planning with global impact to improve academic quality, streamline administrative processes, and align program implementation with the current needs of the medical profession.
This initiative reflects the Faculty of Medicine’s ongoing commitment to strengthening graduate studies, ensuring that the programs offered remain relevant, competitive, and impactful on the world stage.
